Meta is testing several AI-driven tools to enhance ad creative automatically. These features are on by default, and advertisers must deselect them manually if they prefer to keep full creative control.
- Image Expansion

- Background Generation

- What it does: Uses AI to generate new backgrounds for product images, aiming to make visuals more dynamic. The backgrounds are designed to pair with relevant ad copy.

- What it does: Extracts keywords and phrases from your original ad text to display as headlines, overlays, or info chips.
- Note: Ads using AI-generated text previews will not be visible until the ad is published.

- It is actively available.
- Expand Video

- What it does: AI adjusts your video’s aspect ratio to make it fit more seamlessly across different placements (e.g., Reels, Stories, Feed).

- Comments Keywords

- What it does: AI scans positive and neutral comments on your ad and pulls out keywords like “Easy to assemble” or “Sturdy” to display beneath the ad.
- Start date: March 17, 2025


⚠️ Important: These Features Are Enabled by Default
Meta has automatically opted advertisers into this test. If you do not want to use these AI features, you must go into Ads Manager settings and deselect each one manually.
This shift means advertisers need to be especially vigilant about reviewing how their ads appear after publishing and ensure that AI-generated creative elements align with their brand guidelines and messaging.
